Stephanie D. ProphetClinical Therapist
Stephanie purposely addresses the thinking behavior patterns of her clients as a means of providing holistic healing to the mind. She believes the mind is the forerunner of all actions. These beliefs are utilized as she treats clients using cognitive behavioral therapy, which focuses on assisting clients in changing the way they think by exchanging negative thoughts for positive ones. Although Stephanie’s clinical therapeutic focus is cognitive behavioral therapy, she pulls from all areas of therapy to provide a client with the appropriate treatment plan that is specific to his or her needs.
Her experience with working with children and adolescents has given her a strong desire to work with family issues and interpersonal relationships. She has worked with clients to address various issues including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, self-esteem, ADHD, and relationship issues.
Currently, Stephanie is a doctoral student at Capella University in pursuit of a Ph.D. in Counseling. Her research interests include adolescent romantic relationships, self-esteem in adolescent girls, and spiritual wellness of African American clergy.
She is a member of the American Counseling Association and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, and writing. The quote that she lives by is Philippians 4:11 (RSV), “Not that I complain of want; for I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content.”
