Mission

Our Mission is to provide Mentorship, Self-Enhancement, Educational, Social, Leadership, Teen Pregnancy Prevention, STD Prevention, Self-Esteem Enhancement, Life Skills Training, and Support Mechanisms to help young girls city wide between the ages of 7 and 19, particularly those in underserved and distressed communities to become more productive citizens and women of excellence and integrity.

Through supportive conversation circles, a goal setting program, peer and adult mentoring, and a variety of community-based activities, Purple W.I.N.G.S. girls will practice important skills including not limited to: listening to and understanding the viewpoints of others, communicating clearly, thinking critically, and making sound decisions.

General Information

We are a mobile mentoring group, currently working out of the Pearson Community Center in West Las Vegas, Nevada.

Purple W.I.N.G.S. Organization (PWs) 501 c (3) founded in 2010 is a multicultural organization whose acronym stands for Women Inspiring Noble Girls Successfully. It is devoted solely to help at-risk girls particularly those facing the challenges of: poverty, failing or dropping out of school, promiscuity, the sex-trade industry, sex-trafficking, violence, and other negative traps. Purple W.I.N.G.S. helps those facing challenges to ultimately use their personal power to reach their goals and dreams.

Through weekly two-hour supportive conversation circles, a goal setting program, peer and adult one-on-one mentoring, and a variety of community-based activities, Purple W.I.N.G.S. girls practice important skills including not limited to: listening to and understanding the viewpoints of others, communicating clearly, thinking critically, and making sound healthy decisions.

Purple W.I.N.G.S. works mainly with girls who are under-resourced (lack economic resources, family support, opportunities) and teens of color. These girls will develop social, emotional and intellectual tools to help them create a positive life vision, develop success skills, serve as community role models, and access the resources they need to achieve their goals.
