Starting in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Miss Believe plans to make an impact on many lives throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, aiming to expand nationally to productively create strong young women throughout the world.

Founders:
Miss Believe was originally created by Miss Ebony B. Lewis with the help of her 15 year old sister, Alexis Thweatt. Inspired by powerful women such as Michelle Obama, Yulia Tymoshenk, Margaret “Meg” Whitman, and Oprah Winfrey, Miss Lewis envisioned Miss Believe would be an appropriate way to create more powerful young women.

Nicole Marshall, born October 5, 1984 in Newport News, Virginia, was raised by her mother, Vanessa Black in Hampton, Virginia. She attended Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia where she participated in a variety of activities. The highlights of her high school years included Air Force ROTC in which she participated for 3 years and the Crabber Marching Band. She participated in the band for 2 years as a part of the “Essence” Dance Line. With her long-term plans and intentions to go into the Air Force, by the beginning of her senior year, she reconsidered the idea of attending college instead. After researching schools close to home with the best Pre-K through Grade 6 teaching program, she chose Norfolk State University. She would graduate from Hampton High School in 2002 and start the teacher program that fall.
